Planning Your Trip
Some of our Ministry Preview guests will travel by air to Little Rock, while others have opted to drive. Whichever option you choose, once you arrive in Little Rock, your transportation needs will be provided by either shuttle service or FamilyLife staff carpools. Those who fly will be picked up at the airport, and those who drive can access a map showing the location of your hotel. (More information on the hotel is below.)
If you fly to Little Rock, FamilyLife will book the plane tickets for you. You will be responsible for paying half the cost of your airline travel. (If you are married, you will pay for one of the two tickets; if you are single, you will pay for half of your ticket). You will receive a copy of your electronic ticket through e-mail when your flights are confirmed. Print the electronic itinerary and carry the information with you to the airport, as well as your photo ID. FamilyLife personnel will bring a shuttle to pick you up and meet you at the baggage claim.
If you drive to Little Rock, FamilyLife calculates the cost/mile for the distance you drive. You are then reimbursed for the mileage up to the amount of one plane ticket from your destination city to Little Rock.

The telephone number at the hotel is (501) 225-1075. A room has been reserved in your name. The hotel will be invoicing FamilyLife for the room cost, including tax. Any incidental costs will be at your own personal expense.
There will be a welcome bag at the hotel front desk. It will include an information card for you to fill out prior to dinner and should be given to the shuttle driver later. Another packet will include a pre-interview questionnaire that needs to be completed prior to Thursday morning. Instructions are on the front of the packet. Shuttle pickup is at 5:00 pm in the lobby.
Our dress code for men is casual (no ties/coats necessary). Dress jeans and collared polo or button down shirts are encouraged. Casual dresses, skirts, slacks, or nice jeans are acceptable for women. A sweater in the office might be a wise choice as meeting rooms can be kept slightly cooler.
On Thursday, be prepared to have a group picture taken with David Robbins. Your casual clothes for the office will also suffice as appropriate dress for social time out of the office.
FamilyLife provides meals during your stay. A breakfast buffet will be available at the hotel Thursday and Friday morning from 7:00 am to 8:30 am, and Saturday morning between 7 am and 7:45 am. Wednesday night dinner is with our New Staff Resources team. For dinner on Thursday and Friday night, a FamilyLife host couple will be taking you out to a local restaurant. You will attend other meals with individuals or couples on FamilyLife staff. These meals provide an informal setting for you to get to know staff and for staff to further clarify your call and fit into our ministry. When dining out with any of our staff, please make choices that stay within the following guidelines set by FamilyLife:
Lunch: $16.00 per person
Dinner: $24.00 per person
(These guidelines should include tax and tip.)
Please bring your Bible to the office each day. When packing your suitcase to come to Little Rock, leave room in your luggage for the extra FamilyLife items you will be taking home.
