Mankind did not invent marriage, it was God’s idea. Therefore the best marriages include Him—husband, wife, and God.

Marriage works best when each spouse is individually connected to God and living in obedience to Him, and it’s even better when the two are growing together spiritually. To neglect the spiritual side of marriage is to ignore the very One who can help make your marriage the best that it can be.

Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? Does your spouse? Do you have a plan for growing spiritually? Praying together, as you are doing, is a great way to start.

He prays: Thank God for calling you and your wife to pray together and to give attention to the spiritual side of your marriage.

She prays: Ask God to give you both the wisdom and courage to walk in obedience to Him each day.
